REWIND: 3 Colours Red - 'This Is My Time'

3 Colours Red's 1999 LP 'Revolt' was their second full-length effort. I remember buying this album at the very beginning of that year, as the start of January lacked any big, notable or highly anticipated releases. Due to there not being many big selling records out at that time of year, the single 'Beautiful Day' sold enough copies to earn a number 11 UK chart hit, and the album went to number 17. The wonderful follow-up 'This Is My Time' entered the charts at number 36. This period was the band's most successful, but also the moment that tore them apart, as musical differences caused them to split a few months later. They got back together a few years later in 2002u and recorded an unsuccessful third album, before splitting for a final time in 2005. Frontman Chris McCormack now tours as the guitarist in Gary Numan's live band and co-wrote several songs with Adam Ant for Ant's 2013 album 'Adam Ant Is the Blueblack Hussar in Marrying the Gunner's Daughter'.

This Is My Time''s lush string sounds and classy production can be credited to producer Dave Eringa, best known for working with the Manics.
